Losing your brows, or the definition of your lash line, changes how your whole face reads, and it is seldom talked about.

Whether they went with chemotherapy, with alopecia, with years of over-plucking or simply with time, we draw them back one stroke at a time, mapped to the structure of your face and matched to the colouring you still have, so that the person looking back from the mirror feels like you again rather than someone new.

The brows

Four ways to bring a brow back, each drawn for one face at a time.

Every brow begins with a hand-drawn map that you approve before any pigment is placed, and every treatment includes a perfecting session once your skin has healed and we can see how it has settled.

Healed microblading at Little London Clinic: fine, feathered brow hairstrokes
01Brows · Hand-drawn hairstrokes

Microblading

Fine strokes drawn by hand, for a soft, feathered brow that reads as your own.

A fine handheld tool places pigment just beneath the surface in delicate, individual strokes that follow the way your brow hair grows, so it can refine the brows you already have or build a fuller, more defined shape from very little. It is Zara’s signature style, and it is at its most beautiful on skin that holds fine detail well.

Healed nano brows: ultra-fine digital hairstrokes on both brows
02Brows · Digital hairstrokes

Nano Brow

Our most precise hairstroke, and the kindest to mature skin.

Instead of a hand tool, a digital machine places ultra-fine strokes at a carefully controlled depth, which means less trauma to the skin and results that tend to last longer. It suits every skin type, and it is the technique we most often recommend for oilier and more mature skin, where a hyper-realistic finish matters most.

Healed combination brow: hairstrokes from the front to the tail with soft shading for depth
03Brows · Strokes and soft shading

Combination Brow

Fine strokes from the front to the tail, with soft shading for depth.

Microblading or nano strokes are placed from the front of the brow to the tail, with soft machine shading worked into areas of the brow to create depth, so it looks fuller while still reading as real hair. It is a lovely choice where brows are very sparse or have been lost altogether, and for anyone who likes a slightly more defined, groomed finish.

A natural, structured masculine brow
04Brows · For men

Masculine Brow

Structured and natural, with nothing that looks groomed.

We map the brow to the bone structure of your face and place fine strokes that follow your own growth pattern, adding soft shading only where density is missing, so the result looks clean and confident rather than shaped. The aim is for people to notice that you look well, rather than to notice your brows.

The lash line, and keeping it fresh

For the lash line, and for the years that follow.

A healed lash line restoration: fine pigment set along the upper lash line
01Lash line · Pigment at the roots

Lash Line Restoration

A fine line between your lashes, or a softer, powdery thicker line.

Your lash line can be created as a fine line of pigment set between your lashes, so it looks thicker and the eye more defined without ever reading as eyeliner, or as a powdery, slightly thicker line for a little more definition. We never add a wing, because the eye is one of the first places to show age, and the lower lash line can be added if you would like.

It is lovely when the lash line has thinned through chemotherapy or alopecia, for sensitive eyes that react to makeup, and for anyone tired of liner that runs by the end of the day. Adding the lower lash line is £50 more.

A refreshed, healed brow and lash line after a colour boost
02Brows and lash line · Keeping it fresh

Colour Boost

A gentle refresh, from eighteen months onwards.

A refresh of pigment, applied once your brows or lash line have softened in the skin over time, designed to wake up and refresh the look without starting again from the beginning. We like to see a fade before working back into the skin, so your brows never become saturated.

Every case is treated individually, depending on how your skin has held the pigment, so please send us a photograph first and Zara will let you know what she recommends. Brow colour boosts are for clients whose original brows were drawn by Zara.

Who comes to us
  • After chemotherapy.

We plan around your treatment, ideally a week before it begins or six weeks after it ends, and photographs of your brows from before help us draw them back as they were.

  • Living with alopecia.

Even where little or no brow hair remains, Zara can design a shape that suits your face, drawn from years of understanding how hair grows and how it is lost.

  • After years of over-plucking.

The thin brows of another decade that never quite grew back, rebuilt into a fuller, softer shape that suits the face you have now.

  • After work elsewhere.

If older pigment has faded by half or more we can often correct it, and where it has not, gentle laser removal clears the way first.

  • As the skin matures.

Digital hairstrokes are kinder to mature skin than traditional microblading, and many of our regular clients are mature women who simply want to look like themselves again.

  • For men, too.

Natural, structured brows that follow the way your hair grows, for men who would like density back without anything looking done.

Your restoration

From the first sketch to the finished brow.

Restoration is two appointments rather than four: your consultation, mapping and pigment all happen in the first, the perfecting session follows four to eight weeks later, and a colour boost keeps everything fresh from around eighteen months.

Consultation and mapping

First appointment · to begin

Your first appointment begins with a conversation about the brows you remember and how you would like to look, then Zara maps your shape by hand around the structure of your face, and nothing is pigmented until you are completely happy with what you see. If you have had brow work by another artist, we will ask to see it beforehand, as it may need to fade or be lifted with laser first.

A shape you have approved, drawn for your face.

Pigment, stroke by stroke

First appointment · two hours in all

In the same appointment, once the numbing has settled, pigment is placed one stroke at a time, and you leave with written aftercare and a kit for the seven days of healing that follow. For the first few days your brows will look darker and sharper than they will once healed, and the colour softens within about a week.

Defined from the first day, softening within a week.

The perfecting session

Second appointment · four to eight weeks later

Once your skin has healed we look at the result together and refine it, adding density, adjusting the shape or deepening the colour wherever it has settled lighter, because we would always rather build a brow gently over two sessions than ask too much of the skin at once.

Your finished result, a few weeks later.

Colour boost

From around eighteen months

Brows last anywhere from one to several years depending on your skin and the technique. From around eighteen months most clients come back for a colour boost, and because every case is individual, we ask you to email a photograph first so Zara can advise.

Why I do this

I came to brow restoration through hair loss, and it is still the reason I do this work.

For years I worked in hair transplant clinics on Harley Street and in Mayfair, and I kept meeting people who had been turned away, because of alopecia, or because there simply was not enough donor hair to move. I wanted to be able to offer them something when everything else had failed, and drawing brows back by hand became that something.

We hold Free Brow Days at the clinic for people affected by hair loss, because no one should have to go through it alone, and because watching someone recognise their own face again is the best part of what I do.

With care,

Preparing and healing

Before you come, and after you leave.

A little preparation makes a real difference to how your brows heal and how long they last. Lash line care is slightly different, and we send everything you need when you book.

  1. Ninety days before

No chemical peels, laser or deep exfoliation anywhere near your brows.

  2. Two to four weeks before

Pause retinoids, acids and vitamin A around the brows, and any other cosmetic treatment such as Botox.

  3. Two weeks before

No waxing, threading, plucking or tinting, and no facials, tanning or sunbeds.

  4. A week before

Stop vitamin E and fish oil, then aspirin and ibuprofen three days before, checking first with your GP about anything you have been prescribed.

  5. The day before

No alcohol for twenty-four hours, and make sure the patch test we post to you is done.

  6. On the day

Skip the coffee and the gym, and wear your usual makeup so we can see how you like to look.

  1. The first day

Blot gently and often with a clean tissue. It is the single most important thing you can do for your result.

  2. Days two to seven

A thin layer of the balm we give you each morning, and nothing else on the brows: no water, no products, no makeup and no picking at any flaking.

  3. The first five days

No sweating or strenuous exercise while the skin begins to heal.

  4. The first two weeks

No sun or sunbeds, and no saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs or swimming.

  5. Six weeks on

Your final healed result settles four to six weeks after your perfecting session, a little softer than on the day it was drawn.

Questions

Restoration, answered.

Will it look natural?

Yes. Every stroke is drawn to mimic real hair and to blend with the brow hair you still have, and the shape is designed around your face rather than the trend of the moment, whether you would like something soft and barely there or a little bolder.

Is it painful?

Some discomfort is normal, but a numbing cream settles before we begin and most clients feel very little. We explain every step as we go, and you can pause whenever you need to.

How long will my brows last?

Anywhere from one to eight years or more, depending on your skin and the technique, and most clients have a colour boost from around eighteen months. Every case is individual, so email us a photograph and Zara will advise; oily skin, sun and active skincare can all shorten the time between visits.

Do I need a patch test?

Yes. We post a patch test to you once your deposit is received, and it needs to be done at least twenty-four hours before your appointment.

Can you correct brows done somewhere else?

Often, yes. We ask for clear photographs first, and older work needs to have faded by around half to seventy per cent before we can draw over it. If it has not, our PMU laser removal can lift it so we can begin again on a clean canvas.

When can I have brows around chemotherapy?

Ideally at least a week before your treatment begins, so the skin has time to heal, or at least six weeks after it ends. We can work with every stage of hair loss, and photographs of your brows from before are a great help when matching the shape.

Am I too old for semi-permanent brows?

Not at all. Many of our regular clients are mature women, and we use techniques such as digital hairstrokes that are gentler on ageing skin than traditional microblading, so the result looks natural at any age.

Can I have treatment if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

We do not treat anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding. For lash line work we ask you to wait twelve weeks after giving birth or finishing nursing, so your hormones have time to settle.

Do I need a consultation first?

Every appointment begins with a consultation before your treatment, and your brows can usually be drawn the same day. We do advise coming in for a consultation first if you have had previous work by another artist, so we can work out the best treatment plan for you and any limitations, which may mean lifting it with laser before starting again. A separate consultation is £75.
