Questions

Frequently asked.

Common questions about brows, the lash line, laser and hair loss at Little London Clinic, Royal Leamington Spa.

General

What happens at my appointment?

Every appointment begins with a consultation before your treatment, so we can talk through your history, look properly at the brow, lash line or skin, and agree exactly what we are doing. In most cases your treatment can then go ahead the same day.

Do I need to book a separate consultation?

We do advise one if you have had previous work by another artist, so we can work out the best treatment plan for you and any limitations, which sometimes means lifting old pigment with laser first. Otherwise it is not essential: every appointment begins with a consultation, and a separate one, at £75, is there if you feel nervous or would like to meet Zara before deciding.

How do I prepare for my appointment?

For brows, avoid peels, retinoids and tinting in the weeks before, and wear your usual makeup so we can see how you like to look. For the lash line, arrive with clean, makeup-free eyes and no contact lenses. For laser, keep the area out of the sun for two weeks beforehand. We send full instructions when you book.

What about aftercare?

You leave every treatment with written aftercare and a direct line to the clinic, and you can read our aftercare instructions at any time from the link at the foot of every page. Brow and lash line restoration includes a perfecting session four to eight weeks later.

Are you certified and insured?

Yes. Zara holds a CIBTAC qualification through Keystone Healthcare Training, foundation training as a hair transplant restoration technician and a BTEC Level 3 Award in Education and Training, with twenty-five years in hair and brow loss and more than twelve in permanent makeup. She is licensed by the local council, and the clinic is insured with BABTAC.

Brows and Lash Line

Will it look natural?

Yes. Every stroke is drawn to mimic real hair and to blend with the brow hair you still have, and the shape is designed around your face rather than the fashion of the moment.

How long does it last, and when will I need a colour boost?

Brows and lash line usually last from one to several years, depending on your skin and the technique. Most clients need a colour boost from around eighteen months. Every case is treated individually, depending on how your skin has held the pigment, so email us a photograph and Zara will advise.

Is it painful?

A numbing cream is applied first, and most clients describe little more than a light scratching sensation. We explain every step as we go.

What if I do not like the shape?

Your brows are mapped by hand and you approve the shape in the mirror before any pigment is placed, and your perfecting session four to eight weeks later lets us refine it further.

Can you work over permanent makeup from another artist?

Sometimes. Older work needs to have faded by around half to seventy per cent before we can draw over it. If it has not, laser removal can lift it so that you can start again on healthy skin.

Laser

My brows look saturated and too heavy. How do I go more natural?

The kindest route is usually to lift some or all of the old pigment with laser first, rather than adding more on top. That keeps your skin healthy and gives you a clean canvas, and once it has settled you can restart your journey with Little London Clinic and a softer, more natural brow.

What is the Laser Brow Reset?

A complete journey for brows that have become dense, ashy or discoloured after previous permanent makeup. We gradually lighten the old pigment with laser, allow around fourteen weeks for your skin to settle, then design a new set of brows across two appointments, usually four weeks apart. Packages include three, four or five laser sessions and your new brows, from £695, and are explained in full on the laser page.

Is your laser safe on darker skin tones?

Yes. We adjust the method and the settings of our medical laser to your skin tone and type, and every treatment begins with a patch test.

Is there downtime after laser removal?

You may see some redness or mild swelling for a few days. Keep the area clean, out of the sun and protected with a high SPF, and leave it to heal. We give you full written aftercare after every session.

How many sessions will removal take?

Usually between two and six, spaced six to eight weeks apart, depending on the pigment, how deep it sits and how many times it was applied. We give you an honest estimate before you begin.

Hair Loss

Do you offer hair loss treatments?

Not yet. We are preparing to extend into further hair loss solutions, bringing Zara’s years in hair loss together with our brow restoration work, but we do not have a date yet. Register your interest and we will let you know as soon as appointments open.

Can you help now if I have lost my brows to hair loss?

Yes. Brow and lash line restoration is available now, drawn back by hand, and it is often where people affected by alopecia or chemotherapy begin.

Training

Do you offer permanent makeup training?

Yes, but not just yet. Zara is a qualified trainer, with a BTEC Level 3 Award in Education and Training and more than twelve years in permanent makeup, and a small, unhurried programme is in development. Join the training waitlist and you will hear before anyone else when it opens.
